RAINBOW & FLOWER MINI WALL HANGINGS {2 FREE C2C CHARTS!}

by Jess

Like many other countries around the world, we are currently on lockdown in the UK due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Things are pretty crazy for all of us right now and I don’t know about you but crochet is really helping me, it doesn’t just give me something to fill my time but it also gives me something to focus on.

Lots of people are making colourful decorations and pictures to hang in their windows which makes going on walks a lot more fun, my kids love to spot all the things people are displaying.

So I thought I would share a couple of charts for 2 super quick, mini corner to corner crochet wall hangings that are guaranteed to brighten up your windows.

These have actually been taken from my C2C summer blanket CAL but I’ve adapted them so they are no longer in squares. If you wanted a bigger project to work on then you can find all the free blanket charts here.

I made them both using a 4mm hook and acrylic DK yarn. The finished size of the rainbow is 22 cm across x 17 cm long and the finished size of the flower is 16 cm across x 24 cm long. I’ve attached them to wooden dowels but if you don’t have any then you could use straws or sticks… or just anything you have lying around that is straight!

These are made using corner to corner crochet, if you aren’t familiar with the technique then I would recommend this video tutorial by Bella Coco.

So first up is the rainbow wall hanging, I did the background black as I like the contrast of the bright colours against it, also when it’s in my window it blends in so the rainbow stands out more but you can do the background white or any other colour you like.

Then there is the flower wall hanging, again you can mix up the colours in any way you wish!
