I took it down to the beach to take some photos which was difficult as it was so windy! I just about managed to hold it in this photo so you can see all the squares though. I went for super bright colours so it really stands out.

To finish each square I worked a double crochet (UK terms) evenly around the square twice in grey then worked a round in a contrasting colour before returning to grey for the final round. I wanted every square to have the same colour border to make joining them easier.
I actually wish I had skipped the coloured round as it wasn’t really necessary and I think the designs would have stood out more without it but there you go, you live and learn.
I then worked out where I was going to put the squares and stitched them together, you can also join using the crochet method but I wanted to stitch them on this occasion.
When they were all joined I used this moss stitch border tutorial for the outside. I used grey and white (would have been all grey but I ran out!) as the background yarn then used three bright colours to go in-between.

And there you have it, one C2C crochet summer blanket complete.
And I have some exciting news, I’m currently working on a winter one!
